Web design on the Wirral

I am Jake, and I run FORGE from Liverpool, a short hop across the water from the Wirral. I build websites for businesses right across the peninsula, from West Kirby and Heswall to Birkenhead and Bromborough, on spec, so you see the finished site for your business before you pay the rest. It starts at £297, it is live within 7 days, and it goes on your own domain with your name on it. If you run a home service or a professional business on the Wirral and your website is letting you down, this is web design built to earn trust and bring the work in.

Across the water, but close

The Wirral is not Liverpool, and it does not want to be. It is its own place, a peninsula sitting between the Mersey and the Dee, with the M53 running down the spine of it and its own mix of settled residential towns. I am based in Liverpool, which means I am a few minutes over the water through the tunnel, close enough to know the area properly but not so far that you are dealing with a faceless national outfit.

That matters more than it sounds. A lot of the cheap web design aimed at Wirral businesses comes from template farms that have never set foot near the place. They do not know the difference between Caldy and Seacombe, and it shows. I build here, for people here, and I treat your site like it is going to be the first thing your customers see. Because it usually is.

A site that looks the part in Heswall, Caldy and West Kirby

Parts of the Wirral are as discerning a market as you will find anywhere in the North West. In Heswall, Caldy, West Kirby and Hoylake, homeowners have money and standards, and they research before they buy. When someone is choosing a builder, a garden designer, a therapist or a tradesperson for their home, they look at the website first, and they make a snap judgement about whether you are the kind of business they want in their house.

If your work is excellent but your site looks cheap and dated, you lose that job to someone with a tidier site and worse work. I fix that. Clean layout, real photos of your work, a clear sense of what you do and how you do it, and an easy way to get in touch. Nothing flashy, nothing that tries too hard. Just a site that quietly says you are established, careful and worth calling.

Birkenhead, Wallasey and the working towns

Not all of the Wirral is manicured, and I do not build as if it is. Birkenhead, Wallasey, Seacombe and Bromborough are working towns with plenty of good trades and small businesses serving people who want value and straight talk, not sales patter.

The site I build for a business in Birkenhead is not about looking expensive. It is about loading fast on a phone, saying plainly what you do, where you cover and how to reach you, and getting out of the way so the customer can call you. No sliders, no stock photos of people in hard hats who have never been near the Wirral, no filler. Just the facts your customer needs, laid out so they can act on them in ten seconds.

Built for home-based and professional services

A big slice of the Wirral’s economy is quiet and easy to miss. Home-based businesses, sole traders, consultants, coaches, therapists, bookkeepers, and trades running out of a van from Greasby, Pensby, Upton or Neston. You do not have a shopfront, and you do not need one, but you do need to look established, because you are competing with businesses that have offices and budgets.

A proper website is how you close that gap. It gives a one-person business the same credibility as a big one, without the overheads. I build these all the time: a handful of well-written pages, a clear service list, honest pricing or an honest process, and contact options front and centre. It costs £297 to build and £49 a month to look after, which is less than most home-based businesses spend on almost anything else, and it works while you sleep.

Found from Neston to New Brighton

The Wirral is spread out, and that changes how local search behaves. Someone in Neston searching for a service is not going to scroll past three businesses to find you if you only ever show up around New Brighton. If you cover the whole peninsula, your site has to tell Google that clearly, and if you only cover one corner of it, it has to say that too.

I set your site up with clear service-area pages, a Google Business Profile kept properly current, and pages that load in a fraction of a second on a phone. That combination is what gets you showing up when someone nearby searches, whether they are in Bebington, Bromborough or Wallasey. Speed is not a nice-to-have here either. A slow site loses people before it ever loads, and it drags your ranking down at the same time. Static, fast and found is the whole point, and it is what I build.

If you run a business on the Wirral and you want a site that actually earns its keep, message me on WhatsApp. I will build it first, show you the finished thing, and you decide from there.

How it works

From message to live in four steps.

  1. 01

    Message me

Tell me what you do and where you are on WhatsApp. No forms, no call to book.

  2. 02

    £99 to start

A £99 deposit gets your build going and comes off your quote. It covers some of the build time.

  3. 03

I build it, you see it

I build the whole site, framed around your work, and send it to you finished to look at.

  4. 04

    Pay the rest, go live

Happy with it? You pay the balance, it goes live on your own domain, and it is yours to keep.

What you get

What a site from me includes.

  • Built on spec

I build it first and send it finished. You see the real thing before you decide, not a mock-up.

  • Live in 7 days

From the go-ahead, your site is live within a week. No months of back and forth.

  • On your own domain

It goes live in your name. You own the site and everything on it, with no lock-in.

  • Genuinely fast

Static pages, no WordPress. Fast pages rank better and turn more visitors into calls.

  • Found on Google

Built to be found in local search, with the plumbing done properly from day one.

  • Looked after

Someone looks after it and changes it when you need. Two small edits a month, your listing kept current.

What it costs

A straight price.

From £297 to build it, first three months of Care included, then £49 a month.

You own the site outright and can stop the monthly plan whenever you like. Hosting is part of Care and Grow, so one of those keeps it online after the first three months, or you host it yourself. See the full pricing.

Common questions

Questions I get asked.

Do you actually work on the Wirral, or just Liverpool?

Both. I run FORGE from Liverpool, which is a few minutes over the water through the tunnel, so the Wirral is right on my doorstep. I build for businesses across the whole peninsula, from West Kirby and Heswall to Birkenhead and Bromborough. You get someone local who knows the area, not a call centre in another county.

My customers are mostly Wirral homeowners. Will the site suit that?

That is exactly what I build for. In places like Heswall, Caldy and West Kirby, a homeowner choosing a trade or a professional will judge you on your site before they ever message you. I make it look the part: clean, trustworthy, quick to load, with your work and your process shown plainly so the decision to contact you is easy.

I work out of a van, not an office. Does that matter?

Not at all, and it is very Wirral. A lot of the peninsula's business is home-based sole traders and small outfits working out of Greasby, Pensby, Moreton or Neston. You do not need premises to look established. A proper site does that job for you and puts you on an even footing with bigger names.

How much does a Wirral website cost?

It starts at £297 to build, and that includes the first three months of care. After that it is £49 a month for hosting, small edits and keeping your Google listing current. If you want new content and active local SEO each month, the step-up plan is £129 a month. No hidden extras.

How long until it is live?

Seven days from go. I build the site first, on spec, then send you the finished thing to look at. If you are happy, it goes live on your own domain within that week. You are not waiting months or chasing anyone for updates.

Do I own the site, or am I tied in?

You own it. It sits on your own domain and it is yours. The £49 a month is for looking after it and making changes when you need them, not a lock-in. If you ever want to walk away, the site is still yours.

Will people across the whole peninsula find me?

That is the point of the local SEO work. The Wirral is spread out, so someone searching in Hoylake behaves differently to someone in Bebington. I set up clear service-area pages and keep your Google Business Profile current so you show up across the peninsula, not just in one town.

I tried a website before and got nothing from it. Why would this be different?

Most cheap sites are slow, templated and never set up to be found, so they just sit there. I build fast, static sites made to rank and to convert, and I show you the finished result before you pay. You are not gambling on a promise this time, you are looking at the real thing first.
